The genesis of Cancer Dojo can be traced back to its founder, Conn Bertish. In 2006, Bertish faced a dire diagnosis of a rare form of malignant brain cancer. Drawing upon his background as a creative director, he approached his illness with a unique perspective. Through artistic expression using various mediums, he created an environment that not only enhanced his treatment but also boosted his resilience and immune function. This approach was instrumental in his recovery, allowing him to overcome cancer by 2013.

Encouraged by medical professionals to disseminate this transformative way of thinking, Bertish developed Cancer Dojo as a supportive tool for individuals dealing with cancer. The platform integrates a variety of resources designed to empower users with knowledge, inspiration, and practical exercises aligned with the ethos of Dojo Thinking.
